THE ARTISTIC TRAVELS OF AN AUSTRALIAN PAINTER

Jennifer Harnett's Australian Art Tour has come to an end... so has her stay in Lismore, Northern NSW.

"I have found some truly beautiful and awe inspiring places this trip, am very thankful for all the wonderful experiences I've had and look forward to the adventure continuing!"

Creative Revival & Renos

Have had a couple of really creative fun days. I have finally started painting again! YAY!

Can’t believe it’s taken 3 months to get back into it, but as I suspected, once the flood gates opened, all that back logged creativity and energy has just come flooding out.

I have completed 2 small paintings and am now working on 4-5 different projects. The majority of these new projects centre around my new home. And… Yes! You guessed it.... Mr. Rainbow is getting a make-over!

The New Theme

DECADENT LUSH AND BRIGHT

I have been having so much fun sprucing him up, that old 70’s orange, tan & brown interior will be barely discernable by the time I’m done! He’s already got some pretty fabulous bed linens that I retrieved from my storage locker in Sydney, including my brilliant multi-coloured blanket from Mexico (yes, I’ve still got it Jo!).

I’ve been making him some stunning, new jewel green curtains (fabric compliments of Jessica), that I completed & hung today… along with a couple of bamboo screens…. have painted the table all wild & bright, bought some ink to start painting the pop top and have something really special in mind for the roof that’ll surprise you all!

Also opened another of my storage boxes to find a treasure trove of decorative housewares; candles, wrought iron works (remember those stars you gave me mom?!), bamboo… the majority of which have now found a cozy new home in the van. :D

Alas, you will all have to wait to see the results another time, still no camera to be found…. Am loving the way Mr.R’s feeling & looking inside so far. Definitely getting the feeling of being inside a rainbow!

PS. It’s raining again…feeling OK about it though, because it’s not holding me back, or making me feel damp, wet & trapped as it was before. Mr. R is all cozy & dry with a tarp over him and the camp gazebo is up over my painting table, sitting right outside the door :D

Water Adventures

Went for a walk in the feilds this afternoon and before I realised, I was walking on water!

The water reeds & grass was so thick that it blended in with the rest of the land & supported my weight... But of  course once I realized that I was sinking a bit deeper than the mud was usually allowing, I started to sink deeper & instead of turning around back to safer ground, I tried to cut back in another direction and sunk even more!

Thankfully the grass was thick & dense enough to hold the majority of my weight because I definitely wasn’t hitting the bottom when I was sinking, so who knows how deep it would’ve been!

...and I got attacked by yet another leech.... no more walking through feilds of tall grass for me...
